Basket stretcher rescues place heavy, sustained strain on outdoor first responders. Prolonged shoulder loading increases the risk of injury and long-term issues, affecting both safety and performance. While early concepts explored alternative load-bearing solutions, prototyping and feedback from the DNVFRS revealed an opportunity to reduce sustained shoulder strain, specifically in long-haul rescue scenarios.

While golf demands a full range of motion, this is often compromised in exchange for weather protection. This project addresses these mobility needs while creating a layer for different weather conditions. Movement analysis of the golf swing revealed the shoulder and thoracic as the primary areas of restriction. Ideation sketches explored different forms before digital patterning and prototyping.
